Uranus
is the seventh planet from the Sun
and is the third largest in the solar
system.

Uranus is Neptune's
twin and is one of the smaller gas giants
in our solar system, but it is still
large enough to hold 64 planets the
size of Earth.
It has a mean distance from the Sun
of 2.87 billion kilometers (1.78 billion
miles). Uranus has at least 22 moons.
The two largest moons, Titania and Oberon,
were discovered by William Herschel
in 1787.
The atmosphere
of Uranus is composed of 83% hydrogen,
15% helium and 2% methane. The temperature
in the upper atmosphere is very cold.
Uranus has eleven known rings which
contain dark, boulder-sized particles.
Uranus' rings are distinctly different
from those at Jupiter and Saturn.
