The blue jay is a bird which lives in southern
Canada and in the United States of America.
They live in the north but they migrate to the
south in the winter.
Their feathers are blue
and white, they have a blue head and
a white bar on the wing.
They're white to grey-blue on their throat,
chest and belly.
They also have a black necklace on their throat.
Their legs and feet are black.

What do they eat ?
They eat other animal eggs, fruit, insects,
nuts, seeds, mice and grog.
Their diet contains 30 percent insects and 70
percent of fruits, acorns...
How big is the Blue Jay ?
The Blue Jay is between
25.5 - 28 cm long.
Their cousin the Steller's Jay is bigger. They're
between 28 - 30 cm but they have a black head
and crest. |

The female lays 4- 6 green-blue eggs. in a
nest made of sticks and twigs and lined with
grass. The eggs incubate for 17 days.
The Blue Jay is an agressive bird. They can
attack intruders or predators who attack them
or try to eat their eggs.
This is a noisy bird too. They can sing different songs including its distintive "jay-jay".
They also growl, chatter and whistle.
