The Bible is not really one book but a collection
of books.
The first part is called the Old Testament,
which tells us about how God chose the people
of Israel.
The second part is the New Testament,
which tells us about Jesus and his first followers.
Some of these books are long and others are very
short. Some are history books, and others are poetry. Some books are collections of laws, others are
letters.
In many ways the Bible is
more like a library filled with
lots of different kinds of books.
But all of these
books are basically about one subject - God!
