At the front
of the queue, making Adam's head sore
Was a large, hairy creature with a very
loud roar.
`Quiet now!' said Adam. `This is nothing
but a try on.
You don't scare me. I'm calling you
a LION.
' Next came a creature with a soft velvet
nose.
It waved long ears as it nibbled Adam's
toes.
`Oh p . . . lease,' said Adam. `That's
a very bad habit.
Off you go — and by the way —
l'm calling you a RABBIT.'
The creature who came next had scales
on its skin.
It crawled up to Adam and gave a toothy
grin.
`Wow!' gasped Adam. `You've a cracker
of a smile.
I know,' he added: `You can be a CRACODILE.'
After that came a pig, a cow, a cat,
a donkey,
A butterfly, a snake, a mouse, a spider
and a monkey.
And so time passed — easy-peasy
— fun and games
Until, suddenly — disaster —
Adam ran out of names.
