But
Solomon, he pays no heed
to what these voices say.
Riches, fame and victory
aren't what he seeks today.
He really longs to govern well -
to be both fair and just.
And if he is to do what's right,
then one gift is a must.
This gift is
what the new king picks
to help him rule his kingdom.
`Oh God of all the earth,' he prays.
`Give me the gift of wisdom.'
And God delights in this request;
it's pleasing in his eyes,
And so God makes King Solomon
exceptionally wise.
