If you have never been in danger from war, or known the solitude of imprisonment, the agony of torture or pains of hunger, then you are better off than 500 million people. If you can go to church without fear of being threatened, tortured or killed, you are luckier than 3 billion people. If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your body, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of the earth's inhabitants. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and coins in a little box, you belong to the 8% of the worlds most privileged. If your parents are still alive and still married, you are amongst a rare few. If you have read this article, you are privileged; you don't belong to the 2 billion who cannot read.
